INTRODUCTION TO ROBOTICS

EMILY HARWOOD attends New York Institute of Technology and is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She is an active participant in the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and VEX Robotics. Emily works passionately to increase scientific literacy and interest in STEM fields among young people.

BREANAH KHAN attends New York Institute of Technology and is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering. An award-winning member of the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematical Honor Society, she actively participates in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and VEX Robotics. Breanah hopes to influence young people to become engineers.

KAYLE HO has been teaching and mentoring students for over ten years, specializing in robotics for the last three. She taught more than 100 robotics students from ages 7-18 over the last three years in more than four different locations, and is currently working on designing a course for an international robotics league. She also has over five years of competitive robotics experience. She received her bachelor’s degree from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) at Old Westbury in Electrical and Computer Engineering with dual minors in Mathematics and Energy Science, Policy, and Technology. She is a member of the IEEE since 2013, when she first joined her student branch at NYIT, was treasurer in 2014, and has been chair since 2015.
