Tom Chapin and The Chapin Sisters – exclusive benefit concert for Gold Coast Arts!

One night only! Thursday, June 22 @ Jeanne Rimsky Theatre at the Landmark on Main in Port Washington NY. Concert starts at 7:30pm until 10pm, with a 30 minute intermission.

In the long rich history of Family Groups in American Roots Music, the Chapin Family has a special place.

Tom Chapin is a famous singer, songwriter and activist. His career spans six decades, 27 albums and three Grammy Awards. Tom accompanies himself on guitar, banjo and autoharp; his 2 band members sing and play multiple instruments (keyboard, accordion, bass, pennywhistle and concertina). “One of the great personalities in folk music.” NY Times.

The Chapin Sisters (Tom’s daughters Lily and Abigail) are singing, songwriting sisters known for pristine harmonies and haunting melodies. They’ve been compared to sister-acts of old and Appalachian family groups, yet their original songs and arrangements have a contemporary feel. Since 2005, the sisters have garnered critical acclaim by forging a distinctive musical imprint in which they “wed lilting voices, dynamically complex vocal harmonies, and folk-influenced melodies to dark, wryly sarcastic lyrical content”.

Tom – along with bandmate Michael Mark on electric bass, Jon Cobert on piano, and the Chapin Sisters will headline this exclusive benefit concert for Gold Coast Arts at the Jeanne Rimsky Theatre on June 22nd.
