Schedule & food

Camps run from 9:00AM – 3:00PM. Late fees apply if pickup is after 3:00PM.
Lunch, snack, and water are included. Kosher lunch is available and must be requested on the registration form.

CARTOONING BOOTCAMP

July 1-3: Monday – Wednesday (3-day camp *special fixed tuition)
Instructors: Amir Diop & Robert Hoffmann
32 students total: Group A – Ages 6-9 (16 students), Group B – Ages 10-14 (16 students)

Create your own, personalized cartoon characters and bring them to life! This unique, interdisciplinary camp will combine art and music to engage the imagination and creativity. Children of all ages will learn about various styles of cartooning including static and animated.

Special Fixed Tuition: $410/Member: $360

CERAMICS

July 8-12 (1-week camp *special fixed tuition)
Instructor: Jude Amsel
12 students total: One group – Ages 6-14

Learn to create beautiful works of art with clay as you make pinch pots, coil vessels and slab projects, as well as other inventive ceramic pieces. Students will paint and glaze their finished works of art.

Special Fixed Tuition: $745/Member: $695

Instructor: Jude Amsel
12 students total: One group – Ages 6-14

12 students total: One group – Ages 7-14

Intensive and unique opportunity to hand build your own ideas with raw materials under safe, personalized attention. Students’ ability to focus is a must. Premium materials and equipment are included. Click HERE to see our past Wood Workshop masterpieces.

MUSICAL THEATRE: GREATEST SHOWTUNES

July 8-12 & July 15-19 (*2-week camp)
Instructors: Megan Clancy & Darya Gauthier
20 students total: One group – Ages 6-14
This camp is filled. To be placed on a waitlist, please email ellen@goldcoastarts.org.  

Learn to create an original musical using popular songs from stage and screen! Sing, act, and dance at your own speed as you enjoy daily classes that will give you the confidence to perform on stage. On the last day of this session, family and friends will enjoy a live theatrical performance.
*Must register for 2 weeks.

CHESS & MUSIC APPRECIATION

July 22-July 26 (1-week camp)
Instructors: Jack Niculescu & Robert Hoffmann
16 students total: One group – Ages 6-14

Open to students of all levels and abilities; no prior experience required. Learn to play chess and improve your chess ability in an engaging and fun environment that includes chess puzzles and tournament play. Students will also gain an understanding of music through learning about its rich history and concepts. All types of music will be discussed from Bach to Rock.

ILLUSTRATION, CREATIVE WRITING & MOVEMENT

July 29-Aug 2 (1-week camp)
Instructors: Darya Gauthier, Dani Garofalo, Jennifer Stathes
32 students total:
Group A– Ages 7-9 (16 students)
Group B- Ages 10-14 (16 students)

If you’ve got an aspiring illustrator and/or poet, then this is the class for them! Students will learn about various styles of poetry (acrostic, haiku, sonnet, limerick, etc.) and write their own poems. In addition to this, they will be introduced to different illustration techniques, which they will use to illustrate their poetry. Dance and movement sessions will be interspersed throughout to stimulate their creativity and inspire their writing.

BUILD IT: 3D ART

August 5-9 (1-week camp)
Instructors: Karen Hubela & Dani Garofalo
20 students total:

Group B – Ages 10-14 (10 students) – This camp is filled. To be placed on a waitlist, please email ellen@goldcoastarts.org.

Create unique projects using wood, plaster, clay, wire, and other mediums. It is always thrilling to see the three-dimensional result!

FASHION & FIGURE CREATIONS

August 12-16 (1-week camp)
Instructors: Maddy Berger & Dani Garofalo
22 students total:
Group A – Ages 6-9 (11 students) – This camp is filled. To be placed on a waitlist, please email ellen@goldcoastarts.org.
Group B – Ages 10-14 (11 students)

First, you learn about proper proportions of the human body. Then dress your newly created figures using patterns and various materials. As a bonus, create your own accessories like wallets and keychains.  Our fashion design summer camp students have a lot to work with!

APPLAUSE ACTING

August 12-16 (1-week camp)
Instructors: Megan Clancy & Darya Gauthier
14 students total: One group – Ages 6-14
This camp is filled. To be placed on a waitlist, please email ellen@goldcoastarts.org.

This camp teaches acting and performance skills and is perfect for anyone wanting to gain more confidence in public speaking, better stage presence, and improve those memorization skills! Students will work on various acting techniques and styles through monologue and scene-work starting from learning how to write their own monologues and scenes, and culminating at the end of the week in a showcase of their work for family and friends to enjoy.

DRAWING & PAINTING

August 19-23 (1-week camp)
Instructors: Maddy Berger & Elizeh Hakimi
36 students total:
Group A – Ages 6-9 (18 students)
Group B – Ages 10-14 (18 students)

Be inspired by your surroundings and get creative! Draw, paint, and collage using various mediums such as watercolor, pastel, acrylic, and pencil.
